The DOE Opportunity Forum will be held October 30th and 31st at the Sheraton Premiere in Tysons Corner, Virginia. The drive towards alternatives fuels, changes in the transportation sector, and accelerating adoption of economically viable alternative forms of energy provide this October's Forum with increased importance. The 2006 DOE Opportunity Forum will, as in the past, showcase technology firms with viable advanced technology solutions seeking venture and corporate funding to launch or expand their businesses.

These advanced technology opportunities include: 10 in alternative power, including fuel cells, wind and solar; 6 in alternative fuels, including ethanol, methanol and bio-gasoline; 11 related to automotive; 5 biomass technologies; 11 in chemicals and gases; 12 related to defense and aerospace; 6 in electronics; 6 in nanomaterials; 7 in power generation equipment; 4 in oil and gas, 14 with instrumentation and sensor technology; 4 in membrane filtration and separation; 3 in HVAC, and 8 environmental technologies.

In addition, this year's Forum will also provide an opportunity for those interested in the larger programmatic solutions offered by the Department of Energy to be briefed on new initiatives. Keynote speakers and panels focused on the Freedom Car, Alternative Energy Solutions, and Investing in Advanced Energy Solutions will be included. You can access the information on-line on the Forum, the panels, the Abstracts for all the presenting technology opportunities, and registration for the event at http://www.doeopportunityforum.com.
