US Department of Education opens FY-05 SBIR

The US Department of Education has opened its FY-05 SBIR grants solicitation, consisting of one priority with five invitational priorities (topic areas) proposed by the Office of Special Education and Rehabilitative Services' (OSERS) National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research (NIDRR) with awards up to $75,000. The solicitation closes on May 9, 2005. It is anticipated that ED will fund 17 awards under this program.

National SBIR/STTR Phase II conference on the horizon

This by-invitation-only conference provides a forum to bring together scientist, engineers, and technology decision-makers from a wide range of disciplines and environments to discuss all aspects of transitioning SBIR-supported research and development into government and private sector commercial markets. The program will include plenary speakers; focused sessions; pre-arranged, 20-minute appointments between SBIR small businesses and representatives from government prime contractors, defense acquisition programs, and other potential end users of the technology; poster papers; and exhibits. These sessions provide the opportunity for small businesses, large businesses, and government agencies to discuss their capabilities and needs.
