website. We are pleased to report that North
Carolina firms garnered over $32 million in SBIR and STTR funds
in 2004, a significant increase over 2003. The analysis

2005 NC SBIR R&D
Funding Conference Wrap-up![]()
Thanks to all who attended the Fifth Annual SBIR/STTR R&D Funding
Conference. The November 7th and 8th event attracted over 140 people.
Agency representatives from NIH, DoD, NSF, and USDA discussed the
latest R&D initiatives and offered valuable tips on how to submit
competitive proposals. The Governor's Technology Advisor, Dr. Bob
McMahan, moderated a session and presented the latest information
on the North Carolina's new SBIR matching program. Agency managers
also conducted over 60 one-on-one sessions with attendees.
