3-C ISD Receives SBIR Phase I Contract from NIMH

3-C Institute for Social Development (3-C ISD), a leading research firm specializing in the development and delivery of scientifically validated assessment and intervention tools which promote positive social development and mental health in children, has been awarded a Phase I SBIR Contract from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to adapt an existing research-based curriculum for social skills training that will advance social functioning for children with High Functioning Autism (HFA).

NIH offers SBIR Technology Niche Assessment Program

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) announces the availability of an SBIR Niche Assessment Program for Phase I SBIR awardees in FY 2005 and FY 2006. NIH has contracted with Foresight Science and Technology to perform Technology Niche Analyses (TNA™) for 150 NIH SBIR Phase I awardees. The TNA™ will assess potential uses of the technology and result in a report that addresses the end-user needs, current and emerging competing technologies, the market dynamics, and the technology's competitive advantage. (NOTE: This program is not available to STTR awardees.) NIH Eliminating Mailing of Paper Notifications

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) continues towards its goal of a paperless grants process through the elimination of the following notifications which are currently sent in hard copy - Summary Statements and Peer Review Outcome Letters. Instead, investigators are instructed to use the eRA Commons, a Web interface through which NIH and the applicant organizations are able to conduct extramural research administration business electronically.

Department of Education Presolicitation Announcement

TThe US Department of Education, via the Institute of Education Science's National Center for Education Research, intends to solicit offerors for the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Program. The opening date is on or around November 4, 2005, and the closing date is January 6, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. EST. Copies of the solicitation will be available for download on www.fedbizopps.gov.
