NSF invites eligible small businesses to submit Phase I proposals for its 2003 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. Approximately $32.5 million is expected to be available in FY 2003 to fund an estimated 300 awards, roughly 25 of which will be STTR awards. Proposals may be submitted for funding projects of up to $100,000. SBIR projects run for six months, and STTR projects for 12 months. US Dept. of Education SBIR Web Site

Dept. of Education SBIR Web Site is Back with New Address: The Department of Education (ED) SBIR website is back on line and better than ever. Improvements to the site will be an ongoing process, but Lee Eiden, ED SBIR program coordinator, promises some exciting new features. The former ED SBIR web site was suddenly removed from active service without notice in mid-December, then put into archive mode. The ED SBIR website, under Eiden's direction, was well known for its additional resources to the entire SBIR community. You can view the new site at www.ed.gov/offices/IES/SBIR/
