Charlotte-based U.S. ISS Agency, LLC (ISS), a security consulting firm made up of former executive- level law enforcement and military personnel, was recently awarded a GSA Schedule 738X contract for pre- employment screening, and is currently pursuing a Schedule 84 contract for security consulting and investigations. With the help of the local PTAC counselor, ISS has been able to focus on the most important steps in the GSA Schedule process. "As a small business with limited resources, we need to know where to devote the most time and work," says ISS general counsel Nathan Brooks. "The local PTAC has been invaluable to us in that regard."
ISS was formed in July 2004 and began as a "virtual business" with one significant business area (background investigations). Today, ISS is emerging as one of North Carolina's leading security firms, conducting a variety of services for both private and public sector clients.
The ISS Command Center provides a state-of-the-art secure communications facility for businesses, while making it extremely difficult for intrusion from anyone meaning to bring harm to your business or interrupt your secure meeting place.
ISS specializes in background investigations and security consulting, and has become a leading provider of those services to local government agencies in the Southeast. Having assembled a client list that includes the Charlotte-Mecklenburg (NC) Police Department and the St. Lucie (FL) Fire District, ISS pursued a GSA Schedule contract to facilitate the company's continued growth. "Federal government contracts really are the next step for us," Brooks remarks, "and we know our partnership with the PTAC will help us get the most out of the GSA Schedule."
