More from the PTAC director

As we begin to feel the effects of spring, and I do love warm weather, we are in the process of completing the PTAC Awards Survey for last year. By now, all PTAC clients should have received the survey. The response has been very good, but I know that some companies we assisted have not responded yet. This is vital.

As we speak, Congress is beginning to take up the DoD budget. The President's request for funds to handle the hostilities in Afghanistan and Iraq is far greater that those dollars budgeted. This means that other programs will suffer. By reporting the results from all the PTACs across the country (the annual award dollars are huge), Congress is made aware of the value of the program. So, please take a few minutes and complete and return the survey to me by April 20th so that I may include in my final report to DoD on April 25th.

This year, the NC PTAC has subscribed to Parts Base, a program that can provide us with excellent buying histories for many products that the federal government buys on a regular basis. We can research National Stock Numbers (NSNs) and identify exact buying offices (and often the name of the buyer and typical quantities/prices). If you would like to receive similar information for your products and/or services, contact your PTAC counselor and provide them with the necessary information to do a search for you. We do this at no cost to you.

Again, please take a minute and complete the PTAC Awards Survey and return it. If you want another copy, please contact a PTAC counselor and we will get it to you. Thank you.
