What help will I receive?

The SBTDC's International Business Development (IBD) program provides service to those companies needing assistance with export financing, either pre-export (export working capital) or post-export financing (getting paid for a shipment and/or helping the overseas buyer find financing to purchase a product). 

IBD supports the US Small Business Administration’s Export Working Capital Loan Guarantee program through one-on-one client counseling and referral to the SBA export finance officer in Charlotte.  See http://www.sba.gov/oit/ for details on the SBA’s international programs.

IBD serves as North Carolina’s “City/State” (or local) partner for the Export-Import Bank of the United States (Ex-Im Bank), representing the bank in a business development role.  Ex-Im Bank is an independent US government agency which helps finance the overseas sales of US goods and services.  The SBTDC’s international staff travels to the various regions of North Carolina on a regular basis, calls on companies and banks regarding Ex-Im Bank programs, and schedules appointments for Ex-Im Bank officials who visit the state approximately every six weeks.
