What Is the Value of the AIWW?

The following information is provided by the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway Association Newsletter (AIWA) whose website is http://www.atlintracoastal.org.

You can decide this for yourself by looking at the following numbers which come from several local economic studies. AIWA has always insisted that we need a regional economic impact study and these figures only prove that. Each study was different and therefore is difficult to compare but every one proves that the AIWW brings more to the local and national economy than it gets in return.

• The Georgia survey was conducted by the Georgia Marine Business Association and only local marinas were surveyed.
• The Florida Inland Navigation District conducted a more comprehensive study. The complete study can be accessed on their web page at http://www.aicw.org.
