Power washing update
Simple and inexpensive might actually work out. The results of water testing and efforts, by David Flagler at NC MARTEC and several folks from the NC Division of Water Quality (including Ed Beck), point to an inexpensive solution that seems to work. It results in power wash waste water that apparently can be used for lawn irrigation and possibly even be placed back into municipal waste treatment systems.
Flagler and state representatives
are trying to come up with the criteria and then provide the how-to information
to interested NC businesses. Issues remaining: training/certification/license
requirements needed by the facility or the facility employee; engineering requirements;
municipality acceptance of waste stream; and where and how the regulatory decisions
are made. Next action is to work with the NC Clean Marina section and schedule
a general meeting. For more information, contact David
Flagler.
