If you want to know if a company’s management is fully engaged in executing its strategy and growing the business, ask them individually, “What new skill have you learned lately?” What you will find is that the best people are always learning new skills that they can use to contribute to the groups effort.
No matter your experience level, I hope you can always learn something new. One of the joys of being a senior manager is that there is always something new to learn and apply. The reward of life-long learning is in being able to do more – the ability to do more, that’s the joy!
