How do I fill customer orders?

Just as in your "bricks-and-morter" business, you want to make sure your customers are satisfied with your e-service — from purchase to delivery to possible return. It is therefore important to plan how you are going to fill and dispatch your customers' orders.

Many delivery methods will be the same as the ones you are currently using, particularly if you currently accept phone or FAX orders. You can simply package the order yourself than have a delivery service distribute the order to your customers. You can also outsource the service to another company and have them handle the packaging, processing, shipping, and other aspect of order fulfillment. Which ever method you decide to use, you will want to make sure you can get the product to the customer in a timely manner and make any possible return policy easy to follow. Remember, people turn to the Internet for the ease of shopping, and one way to make sure they return to order from your site is to give them good customer service and easy access to your products.
