    <p>The SBTDC has over 70 full-time staff, including several senior   managers, directors, and professional staff. We also work with business and law   students. See navigation at left to find staff information.    </p><h2>Scott Daugherty</h2>
      <h3>Assistant Vice Chancellor / Executive Director </h3>
       <p>
      Scott Daugherty has served   as the SBTDC's Executive Director since it was founded in 1984.  He also serves   as the Assistant Vice Chancellor for Extension, Engagement and Economic   Development at North Carolina State University.
   <p>Scott attended Wake Forest University, The University of   Miami and The University of Florida.  He has a law degree and has practiced as a   corporate attorney in Florida, Mississippi and Washington, DC.  He also has   managed two large regional economic development organizations and organized and   run a small business investment company.  Just prior to joining The University   of North Carolina system in 1984, Scott was a Vice President and Deputy General   Counsel of a large quasi-public financing agency in Washington, DC.</p>
	  <h2>Marc King</h2>
	  <h3>Deputy State Director</h3>
      <p>Marc King, a native North Carolinian, joined the   SBTDC in August 1986.  During his tenure with the SBTDC he has served in   multiple positions and currently serves as Deputy State Director with statewide   responsibility for field operations, and oversight of SBTDC market development   services and Management Education Services and product development initiatives.    In his current role, he also assists the Executive Director with legislative   matters, organizational development and strategic planning.  </p>
      <p>Marc is a graduate of North Carolina State University with a BS   degree in Manufacturing and Management. His diverse background and experience   includes manufacturing plant manager, small business owner, and college   instructor.  Marc is a qualified organization consultant, facilitator and is   certified in various behavioral profiling instruments.  </p>
      <h2> Lisa R. Ruckdeschel</h2>
      <h3>Associate State Director</h3>
        <p>Lisa Ruckdeschel is the Associate State Director for the SBTDC. She   has been with the SBTDC since 1987. Her responsibilities include program   planning and evaluation, external affairs, communications, statewide events   management, new resource development, and the advisory board system.  In   addition, Lisa is a member of the SBTDC’s <a href="http://www.sbtdc.org/privateequity">private equity initiatives</a> team that developed and delivers <em><a href="http://www.sbtdc.org/investorready" target="_blank">Becoming an   Investor-Ready Entrepreneur</a></em>. </p>
      <p>Lisa earned her BA in Organizational Behavior and Management   from Brown University and her MBA from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Prior to joining the SBTDC, her work experience included marketing   / brand management at Procter &amp; Gamble and Hanes Knitwear (now Sara Lee),   and advertising / public relations and training for H&amp;R Block.  Lisa also   co-founded a company that provided business planning, financial and tax services   for small firms.  </p>
      <h2>Larry Loucks</h2>
      <h3>Assistant State Director, Administration and Operations        </h3>
        <p>Larry Loucks began his career with the SBTDC in 1992 as a Business   Counselor based in the Cape Fear Regional Service Center on the campus of   Fayetteville State University.  Currently, Larry serves as Assistant State   Director of Administration and Operations. He is responsible for financial   management and reporting, funding proposals, human resources, information   technology and UNC system campus liaison.</p>
      <p>Larry earned an MBA from Campbell University, a business management   degree from Tri-State University, and an accounting degree from Michiana College   of Commerce. He has started coursework at North Carolina State University in   pursuit of an educational doctorate.  Larry has 10 years experience in the   aerospace industry supervising and managing industrial relations, risk   management and quality control.  He also started and operated his own management   consulting practice prior to joining the SBDTC.</p>

    <h1>SBTDC Advisory Board</h1>
    <p>The SBTDC Advisory Board system is comprised of a Statewide Advisory Board and ten Regional Advisory Boards. The Statewide Advisory Board membership  includes the 10 Regional Advisory Board Chairs and 15-20 at-large  representatives with extensive economic development and/or business  experience. Board members help the SBTDC  keep in touch with small to mid-sized business needs, improve services and  programs, educate state and regional stakeholders and advocate on behalf of the  business community.</p>
