Trans-Utility Services (TUS) was created in 2015 to be an industry leader in transformer oil processing. Trans-Utility Services has experienced field service technicians utilizing the newest mobile oil processing equipment in the industry. Their equipment can handle the toughest jobs and the tightest deadlines. Trans-Utility’s equipment capabilities enable them to do the following work:

  • Degasification
  • Vacuum Filling
  • Thermal Cleaning
  • Retrofilling
  • Hot Oil Dryouts

Trans-Utility Services has their corporate office in Maine and mobile equipment and personal located throughout the country servicing clients throughout the country.

Jim Scandrol, Vice President of Sales Operations contacted his local PTAC Counselor for assistance as the firm expanded into the government market. Jim and his counselor met several times to discuss TUS and the industry.

During these initial sessions NAICS codes were selected and Jim completed his SAM registration. Later sessions included looking for opportunities on Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) and researching several potential competitors and partners. Information was gathered from their SAM registrations, websites and past award histories. Jim and his counselor reviewed TUS’s Government Marketing Plan for 2016 which focused on increasing brand awareness by attending government contracting events to network and gain additional training in this new market. The first such event attended was Opportunities 2016 in Asheville.

Trans-Utility Services has obtained their first work on a government facility in the form of a subcontract with a large prime to be performed in 2017. This is an exciting step into a new market. www.trans-utility.com
